Burn Burn marks the first studio album from Our Lady Peace since 2005. Self produced by the band and recorded at Raine's home studio in Los Angeles, Burn Burn marks a return to the hard driving rock songs the band displayed on their breakthrough debut release, Naveed. As Raine explains, "We've come full circle and the music is just stripped down, full of raw energy. It feels like a proper rock record again." Fans can catch a glimpse of the studio sessions plus exclusive reveals of artwork, lyrics and more, at the band's website www.ourladypeace.net.
In addition to their six full studio albums, which all surpassed Platinum sales status in Canada, Our Lady Peace released a live CD/DVD in 2003 and a hits collection in 2006, compiling a decade of their chat-topping singles and featuring two new tracks. Throughout their career, the band has sold over five million albums worldwide, won four Juno Awards (Canadian Grammy's), and won ten Much Music Video Awards – one of the most awarded bands in MMVA history. They've shared the stage with Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Faith No More, The Ramones, Goo Goo Dolls, No Doubt, Stone Temple Pilots, Alanis Morissette and Blur among others. Of their live show Billboard Magazine said "OLP proved their readiness as arena-worthy superstars during the opening night of the Canadian act's U.S. tour."
Our Lady Peace will hit the road across North America in support this summer. More details on touring plans to be announced in the coming weeks. The first single "All You Did Was Save My Life" hits Rock radio at the end of May and iTunes on June 9th. The video, directed by Scott Weintrob who has previously collaborated with the band on two other videos, features 90210 star Shenae Grimes.

Ben Harper and Relentless7's energetic live performance is the heart of the band. In December 2008, the band embarked on a highly successful short club tour with a handful of dates in California and New York. "The band's combined force was almost too big for the room," RollingStone.com said of the band's intimate performance at Spaceland in Los Angeles.
The sweaty, gritty and energetic vibe of the clubs proved to be an incredible match for the band's new hard-hitting sound, and they are pleased to announce their return to the road on a larger club tour of the U.S. as well as dates abroad. "We thought, this is a new band, a new opportunity, a new energy. Let's earn it the way that new bands do...let's play clubs, let's play small places," said drummer Jordan Richardson. Current confirmed tour dates are listed below.
BHR7 will make an early late night television debut on Last Call with Carson Daly on March 27, and will follow with week-of-release performances on The Late Show with David Letterman (5/6), Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (5/7) and Jimmy Kimmel Live (5/21).

BHR7 History: Harper met guitarist Jason Mozersky in the late nineties, when the lead singer of Mozersky's then band, WAN SANTO CONDO was working as a van driver shuttling bands back and forth to the venue for a Texas promoter. He asked the then captive Ben Harper, "Can I play you my demo?" Harper obliged, and in his own words "was blown away," and helped the band secure a record deal and release an album on Everloving Records. The band broke up after one record, but what survived was a lasting friendship between Harper and Mozersky. In 2005, Harper invited now long time friend Mozersky to lay down guitar work on a track during the recording sessions that would become a double record entitled Both Sides of the Gun. Mozersky brought along bass player Jesse Ingalls and drummer Jordan Richardson and the session would spawn not only the song "Serve Your Soul" but the framework for Relentless7.
To reignite the chemistry discovered during the Both Sides of the Gun session, they reunited in the summer of 2008 just to jam and write songs together, and emerged with a new sound and enough tracks for an album. White Lies For Dark Times is a timeless rock record, with a cohesive collection of music that is as raw, unrelenting and thunderous, as it is arrestingly haunting and emotional.

More InformationReprise Records' GrammyRAward winning rock band Green Day have announced that they will hit the road for their first proper tour of the United States and Canada in more than three years beginning July 3rd in Seattle, WA. The first leg of the tour will cross North America through the summer and finish up with two shows in Los Angeles on August 26th.
Green Day are touring in support of their long-awaited eighth studio album 21st Century Breakdown, which will be released globally by Reprise Records on Friday, May 15th, 2009. Singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool have been at work writing, arranging, and recording 21st Century Breakdown since early 2006 with producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins). The first single, "Know Your Enemy" was released to radio and digital retailers on April 16th.
Green Day recently performed 21st Century Breakdown in its entirety during a series of warm-up club shows for hometown fans in the Bay Area. In its review of a show at Oakland's Fox Theater, Rolling Stone commented that the band, augmented by guitarists Jason White and Jeff Matika, and keyboardist Jason Freese, had the "Quadrophenia-like hang of 21st Century Breakdown's classic rock melodies and lifetime-punk drive down solid" and that the album is "rock opera in which the rock always comes first." "21st Century Breakdown is Green Day's best album," the reviewer concluded, "and at the Fox, they proved that the rock opera can be as punk as a Clash 45."
21st Century Breakdown is Green Day's first studio album since 2004's two-time Grammy Award-winning punk-rock opera American Idiot, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned five hit singles, and went on to sell more than 12 million copies worldwide.

In one year, the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival singlehandedly raised the bar for live music in Northern California. Now an annual gathering, this year's lineup will solidify Outside Lands as the premier festival in the region, with unmatched creative programming that showcases leading artists in many musical scenes, including rock, pop, world music, soul, hip-hop and electronic. Like the inaugural event, major national headliners such as Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Beastie Boys, Incubus, Black Eyed Peas, Jason Mraz, Thievery Corporation, Ween, The Mars Volta, TV on the Radio, Tom Jones, Built To Spill, Calexico, The National and Q-Tip, will perform alongside exceptional emerging artists such as Deerhunter, Heartless Bastards, Blind Pilot, Mastodon, Trombone Shorty and Dengue Fever. Local acts such as The Dodos, The Morning Benders, Brett Dennen, John Vanderslice, Raphael Saadiq and SambaDa will be featured prominently as the festival strives to highlight the great artists of the region. The complete announced lineup is listed below. More acts will be announced soon.
Outside Lands has emerged as a familiar brand representing its own unique approach to celebrating the deep traditions of Northern California culture that are revered across the globe. At no other festival event can one experience the best music while eating world-class food and drinking some of the finest and most interesting wines available today. From tacos to raw food to oysters to nouveau to dim sum, San Francisco's famously top-rated and diverse cuisine is on hand to offer fans the greatest culinary delights imaginable, while the artisan wine tent onsite assembles under one roof some of the most wonderful local wineries, all richly steeped in the history of the region. These wineries are looked upon as some of the best the world has to offer and it's a rare and special occurrence when all of them come together in one location.
Besides music, food and wine, Northern California is best known as one of the technology and ecology capitals of the world. The festival celebrates the former with Crowdfire, the online Outside Lands community. In association with local company Federated Media, Crowdfire is an incredibly unique platform for sharing and creating event media within the festival grounds as well as with the online community at large. As for the latter, since San Francisco is front and center in the global discussion on ecological concerns, the festival has created Eco Lands, a place where the stage and cell phone charging station is powered by solar energy, where one can eat sustainable foods at an organic farmer's market and where one can find the refillable water station and the recycling store. Outside Lands aims to be one of the largest carbon neutral events in the country and there is no better place to reach that goal than on the grounds of the one of the world's most famous parks. "We are so proud to have introduced this vital and unique annual event to the music fans in San Francisco," said Superfly's Rick Farman. "We are really excited to be back and can't wait to unveil all we're planning. The great lineup is just the tip of the iceberg."
By continuing to bring an endless selection of the best music and activities that celebrate the vibrant culture of the Bay Area, this year's Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival is poised to cement it as one of the premier music events in the country. BEN FOLDS Presents: UNIVERSITY A CAPPELLA! To Be Released APRIL 28th
Epic Records is excited to announce the release of BEN FOLDS PRESENTS: UNIVERSITY A CAPPELLA! on April 28, 2009. Amazed to discover the large amount of colleges that have very active a cappella groups on campus across the country (1,200 in the US alone), and, on top of this, how many of them love to cover his songs, Folds decided to A&R and produce a record gathering the best of these performances. More InformationEpic Records is excited to announce the release of BEN FOLDS PRESENTS: UNIVERSITY A CAPPELLA! on April 28, 2009. Amazed to discover the large amount of colleges that have very active a cappella groups on campus across the country (1,200 in the US alone), and, on top of this, how many of them love to cover his songs, Folds decided to A&R and produce a record gathering the best of these performances.
When word got out, the response was tremendous and resulted in 250 videos on YouTube. Folds would come off stage every night and spend hours pouring over these entries, ultimately choosing 15 groups to record. Ben, his wife Fleur, and his engineer Joe Costa packed up their equipment, and hopped on planes, trains and automobiles to record these groups. Over 2 months, they set up camp in dorm lounges, lecture halls and campus television studios. They even recorded in a Synagogue. Also wanting to involve students from other areas of campus life in these sessions, at each one Folds invited a student photographer and videographer to document the recording. After reviewing the footage captured, Ben then invited one of the student videographers - Jason Harper from Princeton University - to compile each school's footage into one documentary of the entire project.
No matter where the recording was to take place, the makeshift studio was simple: six area mics. It was a bold aesthetic choice for the project. In recent years, tools like Auto-Tune and overdub have become as prevalent in collegiate a cappella recording as on major label albums. But Folds wanted to capture what these groups actually sounded like in performance. The team allotted four hours for each session. Most groups nailed the recording in two.
Not to be outdone by the undergraduates, Folds recorded two of his own a cappella tracks: instrument-free versions of "Effington" (from his 2008 album "Way to Normal") and "Boxing," which originally appeared on the 1995 self-titled Ben Folds Five album. About recording his own two a cappella songs, Folds says, "It took f**king longer than four hours. I can tell you that much. I have a greater appreciation now for the university groups."
Ben Folds Presents: University A Cappella! comes at an interesting time. After all, a cappella jokes have featured prominently on NBC's "The Office" and in big-budget movies like "The Break-Up," to name a few. Also, in May of 2008 Gotham Books published Pitch Perfect, a book written by GQ senior editor Mickey Rapkin that is a behind-the-scenes look at the bizarre, inspiring and hilarious world of competitive collegiate a cappella. Summarizing the coast-to-coast endeavor, Folds stresses, "This is not a novelty. I consider this my new record. I'm incredibly proud of this. If this were Ben World, this would be my greatest hits album. I'd rather this be my greatest hits record than someone collecting my masters and slapping on a photo of me leaning against a piano. This is a better way. I'm a songwriter, and these are my songs." Look for many of the a cappella groups to open up for Folds on many of his upcoming tour dates.
