PERMANENT ME JOINS FALL OUT BOY TO KICK OFF 2007
New York-based Permanent Me are joining Fall Out Boy on tour in January 2007, alongside New Found Glory and Early November on the Friends Or Enemies Tour. Permanent Me’s full-length debut, AFTER THE ROOM CLEARS, is set for release on January 23, 2007 on Stolen Transmission. The album was recorded with producer Matt Squire, a major A-list figure who has thrown his hat in Permanent Me’s ring. Squire is celebrated for his work with Panic! At The Disco, Cute Is What We Aim For, Downtown Singapore, and fellow Stolen Transmission group Monty Are I, with whom Permanent Me are presently on tour.
In advance of the January shows, Stolen Transmission is partnering with absolutepunk.net in giving away 10 free pairs of tickets to the Friends Or Enemies Tour. To enter the random lottery , on December 5th, be one of the first 500 people to pre-order the Permanent Me t-shirt and debut AFTER THE ROOM CLEARS on absolutepunk.net. The winners will be selected randomly and notified by January 3rd.
Permanent Me have committed themselves to touring, and have been gaining fans in every city they hit. In October, Permanent Me performed with Cartel, Hit The Lights, and Summer Obsession. In addition to a 2006 tour with Monty Are I, Cartel, Boys Like Girls, and Valencia, the band played both days of Bamboozle (East) at Meadowlands in New Jersey on May 6th and 7th (the only band to perform twice in a weekend) with Fall Out Boy, All American Rejects and two dozen other bands, as well as Bamboozle West with Thrice.
The band has a strong online presence as well. A new Permanent Me song, "Until You Leave" is available on myspace.com/permanentme and purevolume.com/permanentme. The band have also gotten into the holiday spirit by recording a new Christmas track, "What a Time To Leave" which can be heard at purevolume.com/stolentransmission. The track was recorded exclusively for Stolen Transmission and PureVolume's Holiday Extravaganza, and there is also a brand new "Live from the Casa De Ultragrrrl" video for the song "Come Now."A full album preview will be available on PureVolume.com/PermanentMe starting December 23rd for one week.
Straight outta the mean streets of North Bellmore, Long Island, Permanent Me was organized by founding members Brian Kapler (vocals, guitar) and Joe Guccione (guitar, vocals). They were still in junior high school when they realized that life was too short to be stuck at home playing video games and doing homework. After stints in other bands, the two decided to try it on their own, eventually recruiting drummer Mike Fleischmann and newest member Justin Morell on bass. They were originally known around L.I. as Yes, Virginia, until an album of the same title (by Dresden Dolls, on Roadrunner) forced a name change.
