THE CLASSIC CRIME Launch "The Fight", National Tour Announced
Tooth & Nail recording artists, The Classic Crime, have been building a major underground buzz on the strength of their debut album Albatross and they're ready to make it even louder with a new single, "The Fight", and a national tour with A Change of Pace and Quietdrive, including dates in New York City, Philadelphia, Denver, Anaheim and many cities in between.
With album sales of their debut Albatross currently at 30,000 and still rising, The Classic Crime is ready to impact radio again with their second single "The Fight". Early believers at Chicago's WIIL, Seattle's KFNK, XM Radio's Squizz, Sirius' Octane, are among the dozen stations jumping on the single early.
The band has already proven their popularity with first week scans reaching 3,700 copies, making The Classic Crime the #1 Best Selling Debut for a Tooth & Nail artist in the label’s history. With streaming plays on Purevolume.com over 1.1million, The Classic Crime cemented their reputation to the masses last year on the sold out 2006 Tooth & Nail Tour and their Fall tour with A Static Lullaby, I Am Ghost and So They Say. And now they're preparing for their Spring 2007 tour with A Change of Pace and Quietdrive.
Having played together since high school where they searched for a medium between their parents favorite music like Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, but playing close attention to their surroundings including the likes of Pearl Jam and Gatsby's American Dream, The Classic Crime have developed their own style best described as a new take on old rock 'n' roll sound. Partnering with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette (Iggy Pop, Chevelle, Cold) in the studio couldn't have worked out any better for The Classic Crime to embrace all of their different influences and fuse them all into Albatross. PunkBands.com says of the band, "The Classic Crime deliver delectable songs on Albatross while healing us all with a little bit of their pain. I suppose that’s what music is about, right?" While the seminal Punknews.org says, "Albatross could easily launch the band to the front of the scene. Not only is their album a solid mix of catchy rock songs with some pop-punk influence, bu
t Matt MacDonald manages to find a vocal approach in between fan favorites Patrick Stump and Brendon Urie... So someone turn up the volume and let’s have a party."
