Music Nation, the artist development company, has announced the first week's winners of its online multi-genre video music competition. The six winners, as decided by the public together with the judges, are: Recliner (Rock), After August (Rock), Lindsey Ray (Pop), Eff Anthony (Pop), 360 Infinite (Urban), and Pavlov Jefe (Urban). With judges
like Joel and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte, producer Howard Benson (rock), producer Jonathan "J.R." Rotem, Charlie Walk, President of Epic Records (pop), and multi-platinum rappers Nelly and The Game as well as Mark Pitts, President of Urban Music at Jive Records (urban), the Music Nation competition is a chance for unsigned acts to have their music heard by some of the premier figures in the music industry.

These six winners now move onto the quarterfinal round, which begins on April 23rd, where three artists one from each genre (rock, pop and urban) will win the ultimate prize: a global recording contract with Epic Records. Additionally, all three winners will be showcased on an episode of STRIPPED, Clear Channel Radio's exclusive in-studio performance series.

Rock Winners

Recliner - "Float Away" Judge's Choice

Recliner's video for "Float Away" shares the song's fun and reckless spirit. The video features the San Francisco band (Ward Evans, George George Carney, Kevin Seidel, John Benson), post-robbery, reveling in their newfound wealth while one very fine lady manages the getaway car. But all does not end well, as crime doesn't pay.

After August - "I'm Sorry" - People's Choice *

Inman, SC's After August specializes in songs "ranging from pop-rock love ballads to lead-filled blues-rock." "I'm Sorry" was recorded live at the Greenville, SC Bi-Lo Center a year ago, opening for Bon Jovi. After August (John Labanick, 23; Chris Hillard, 22; Josh Bradley, 25; Darin Worley, 24) won the chance to perform through Bon Jovi's "Have a Nice Gig" contest.

Pop Winners

Only 23, Lindsey Ray has a voice reaching far beyond her years. Ray has been singing and performing since a very young age and currently plays regularly in and around her hometown of Belfast, ME. Her video for "Wake Me Up" was recorded live during one of her very first solo performances, at an open mic night at San Francisco's Hotel Utah.

Giant cockroaches? Check. Girl trouble? Check. Reference to Kafka's Metamorphosis? Perhaps. Eff Anthony's "Fantasy" is a charming visual ode to cockroach love, lost and found. Anthony, 25, is from the Bronx, NY and was also a finalist in the Verizon Wireless and MySpace "Calling All Bands" contest.

Urban Winners

360 Infinite - "Who Dat?" Judge's Choice

360 Infinite is a duo from Methuen, MA who "display charismatic wordplay, cutting edge production and catchy hooks." "Who Dat?" is assumedly an average night out for the members of 360 Infinite (Lu Nox and Astro): hot women, fast cars, and hard-hitting beats.

Pavlov JeFe - "Back It Up" People's Choice *

Broadview, IL's Pavlov JeFe earned his name "for the way his words seem to tap deep into the listener('s) unconscious mind." "Back It Up" really features a video within a video, starring a sassy and sultry lady who
similarly infiltrates her viewer's subconscious.
