Satellite Party to play at South By Southwest '07; Perry Ferrell ignites a global climate change movement with Global Cool
Perry Ferrell's highly anticipated project, Satellite Party, announces the online premiere of their first single, "Wish Upon A Dog Star" and other track samples on AOL Music today. Be sure to visit http://www.music.aol.com to listen to the track and read exclusive commentary by Perry himself. This first single provides a glimpse into Satellite Party's debut concept album titled Ultra Payloaded, which will hit stores on May 15, 2007. With Farrell's modernist thinking, the music of Satellite Party tells a story through a collaborative brain trust of artists, musicians and environmentalists called The Solutionists, who seek to redesign and come up with solutions for the world. This concept album features a wildly diverse group of artists, including The Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea and John Frusciante, New Order/ Joy Division Bassist Peter Hook, Thievery Corporation, Black Eyed Pea's Fergie, Hybrid, film composer Harry Gregson-Williams, as well as an unreleased Jim Morrison vocal track.
The wait to hear more music won't be too long, as the Satellite Party camp plans to play at this years South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. In addition, Perry Ferrell's involvement with Global Cool (http://global-cool.com) sparks a global climate change movement by inspiring audiences through music to embrace a shared responsibility for the planet. Global Cool's theme song is "Woman in the Window," a never-heard-before recording of Jim Morrison and The Doors with new music by Perry Ferrell, recorded by Satellite Party.
