By exposing the different components that create their signature sound, and exploring each thoroughly instead of condensing them to fit with each other, they've created a series of songs that shift from gritty to spacious, and scorching to whirling between discs. Each disc in the four EP set has its own distinct characteristics. Lyrically, Dustin Kensrue addresses issues ranging from the supremacy of love, to critical looks at 9/11 and American foreign policy, to traditional storytelling in the tales of Icarus through the eyes of his father, Daedalus, and the story of a whaler leaving his family for the sea. Each disc is concluded with a sonnet which is a dialogue from that certain element to man.
